1940: John Winston Lennon is born October 9th in Liverpool
1946: Lennon's father Alfred leaves
1957: Lennon gets his first guitar by his mother Julia and forms the Quarrymen;
Paul McCartney meets Lennon at a church festival in Woolton and agrees to join the band
1958: George Harrison is introduced to Lennon by McCartney and joins the band;
Lennon is accepted for the Liverpool College of Art where he meets Stuart Sutcliffe who joins the band as a bass player;
Lennon's mother Julia (44) dies in a car accident
1960: Changing name into Beatles;
Allen Williams becomes their first manager;
Pete Best is hired to be the Beatles' first permanent drummer;
First residency in Hamburg;
Stuart Sutcliffe leaves the band to concentrate on his artwork and to stay with german photographer Astrid Kirchherr;
1961: Second residency in Hamburg;
